Up and running in three steps

  1. 01

Open Tech Manager and click Get Started. Your browser makes a one-time sign-in code; type it into the app.

  2. 02

Add this computer to your church

In Settings, Booths, click Add this computer. Now your team can see this booth from the web app.

  3. 03

    Scan your gear

The setup wizard connects OBS, vMix or your ATEM and finds the cameras and devices on your network. About three minutes.

What it needs

The booth computer

The PC or Mac that runs your service: the one with OBS, vMix or your capture card.

Same network as your gear

Tech Manager talks to switchers, cameras and displays on your local network.

Internet

For sign-in, updates and the web app. Booth controls keep working if the internet drops.

Updates itself

New versions download quietly and install when you restart, never while Present is live.

Release notes

1.0.0-beta.5 October 21, 2026 Latest

This update lets several computers share one Present room, each running its own screens, cards and NDI feeds. It makes the Audience and Stage buttons show what is really on the wall, adds slide hotkeys and a quick menu for sending any output to any display, and asks before one church's Present files are cleared from a shared computer. It also carries everything first built for 1.0.0-beta.4: student accounts, easier PTZ cameras, live program video on the web Switcher, and the Present editor pass (listed further down).

COMPUTERS IN A ROOM · 11

  • Every output belongs to one computer. Settings > Outputs > "Where it goes" lists every computer in the room with its screens, its Blackmagic card connectors, NDI and its network displays. Pick any of them for any output; picking a device another output already holds swaps the two. "No display" leaves an output unplaced.
  • A computer that joins a room runs its own outputs from what the room is showing, in step with the host. Cues fired on either computer show on every output.
  • The room keeps playing when its host computer closes or drops off. Every other computer in the room shows "Take over" under the monitor, and nothing changes hands until someone clicks it. If two people click at once, the first one wins and the other is told who did.
  • When a host comes back after someone took its room over, its screens stay up and follow the new host, with one quiet line saying who is running the room now.
  • Add room offers Blank (an Audience Display and a Stage Display, nothing picked yet) or Copy another room. Each room keeps its own setup, and a window in no room keeps its own private setup on that computer. Leaving a room asks first when this computer runs some of its outputs.
  • Lock this room: the host can lock a room's output settings so a stray click can't move a projector mid-service. Everyone can still run the service; anyone can unlock with a deliberate click and a confirm.
  • Speakers belongs to one computer. Other computers in the room show which computer plays the room's sound, with "Use this computer instead". If a sound device would play something twice (for example a Blackmagic card that already carries an output's sound), Present asks first and sends the sound once.
  • Media dropped on the host reaches every computer in the room: it uploads first, the other computers hold their picture until it arrives, then join in step. A video over 250 MB stays on the computer it was added on, and its tile says so.
  • A capture card or camera plugged into one booth should show on the other booths in the room, sent between Tech Managers over NDI. Settings > Rooms > This computer has a switch for it (on by default; about 125 Mbps per 1080p input, so use wired gigabit).
  • When Tech Manager and a web browser run on the same computer, Tech Manager runs that computer's screens. The installer tells Chrome and Edge to let the WorshipMetrics web app check for Tech Manager on this computer without asking; uninstalling removes that setting.
  • All of this should work on real booths but has not yet been tried with two booths in one room.

AUDIENCE AND STAGE · 4

  • Green means the switch is on, and off means off. While a switch is off, anything of that role still showing on this computer is closed or blacked out again; if that fails three times, a red dot names what is still showing, with Try again.
  • An output reads "Showing" only once a frame has actually reached its screen, card or feed. A yellow triangle appears when the switch is on and any output of that role isn't showing, and hovering it says which one and why (a closed window, a disconnected display, a stopped screen process).
  • Blackmagic card and NDI outputs follow the switch: while their role is off they send black and silence and keep the signal alive, so a switcher or recorder never loses the source.
  • A caret on the Audience and Stage buttons opens a quick menu of that role's outputs. Each one can be switched on or off on its own and sent to any display on any computer in the room, with Identify, Look, Stage layout and Output settings close by. Picking a display never switches an output on by itself.

PRESENT · 10

  • Slide hotkeys: one key fires a slide, or the first slide of a section (Verse 1-6 = 1-6, Chorus = C, Bridge = R, Tag = T and more). Set them in Present > Settings > Hotkeys and in the slide inspector; a small keycap on each slide shows its key.
  • The + in the slide grid and in the editor opens a menu: Blank slide, Duplicate current slide, the last theme you used again, or From theme. Enter still makes a blank slide at once.
  • Applying a theme brings its bars, cards, accent lines and fixed text along with its colour and media. A word you coloured or bolded on its own keeps that styling; everything else follows the theme.
  • Manage themes has two tabs, Themes and Stock themes. Themes can be sorted into folders, the default theme carries a green badge, and Church defaults (font, colours, fallback logo, default layout and background) sit at the foot of the list.
  • A hymn opened from the library follows your default look, the same as a new presentation, until someone edits it. Each hymn has one Default arrangement.
  • A new church's Present library starts empty, apart from the shared hymns.
  • The text inspector is arranged in sections (Font, Paragraph, Fit, Effects, Content, Advanced), with two controls to a line.
  • The editor's insert toolbar is a little more compact, the top bar's icons have more space between them, and right-click menus are a shade lighter. The Shape menu offers eight shapes.
  • A slide pasted into a theme keeps its name as a label you can edit or clear.
  • The Present tour's media bin step frames the whole bin.

SHARED COMPUTERS · 2

  • On a shared computer, Tech Manager asks before a different church signs in: "This computer has Present files from another church." Signing in removes them from this computer (they stay safe in that church's account); Cancel leaves everything as it was. If any changes there were never saved, it says so. A different person from the same church is never asked.
  • Tech Manager opens on Present after you sign in.

PLANS AND PEOPLE · 9

  • Plans show a song's key by its letter ("Key of G") on the plan, the item panel and the printed plan.
  • Pressing Save on a plan item after picking a song links the song.
  • An empty plan's Ends reads "—" until something with a length is planned.
  • A person's Serving tab is Scheduling: Teams and positions, Blockout dates, Schedule with, and Notifications. One Access card on their profile shows how they sign in, their level and Send welcome email.
  • Levels use Planning Center's names: Scheduled viewer, Viewer, Editor and Administrator (and Owner). Add person offers the welcome email at any of those levels, or none.
  • Add person's position picker names each position's Service ("Acoustic Guitar — Band · Sunday Service").
  • Churches can add their own person types (Pastor, Staff, Elder) from Add person, a person's page, or People > Edit types.
  • A person's page header stacks neatly in a narrow window.
  • Student accounts: a suggested password is four words and a number, and a password you set needs at least 12 characters. After 20 wrong tries in a day, a student's username is paused until an administrator uses Reset password.

REELS · 6

  • While a recording opens, the editor shows straight away, with the recording's picture where the video goes and the moments filling in as they arrive.
  • Every clip has one number, the same on its card, its band in the timeline and every list, and the timeline has time marks with the start and end times at the ends.
  • Key Moments are 30 to 60 seconds, the length of a Short or a Reel, and open on their strongest line. When moments are found online, a long clip can also offer a Short cut inside it, with its own Keep.
  • Scrubbing the player is smoother: the moment cards' pictures wait while you scrub.
  • If finding the moments fails on this computer, the recording says so with the reason after a restart too, and a run cut off by closing Tech Manager can be run again.
  • On the Free plan, Tech Manager's Reels (which transcribe and render on this computer) score moments and write posts, and Tech Manager shows no plan lock on Reels or Switcher control.

SETTINGS AND PLANS · 12

  • A plan lock says which plans include the feature ("Available on the Pro and Max plans.") with a quiet See plans link that opens Settings > Plan and billing. Locks show no prices.
  • A whole locked section stays visible, dimmed, under one quiet card naming the feature and its plans, with See plans. A single locked button fades with its label readable and a small lock; clicking it opens a short note with See plans.
  • Drawing import and Describe your rig are locked at the button that opens them. For text alerts only the Text column is locked.
  • Opening a recording in Reels works on every plan, so you can cut, render and post clips by hand; the button inside that finds moments with AI carries the lock.
  • When storage is full, the library stays in view; only new uploads wait.
  • Sending to YouTube and Facebook at once straight from your encoder works on every plan.
  • Scheduling and running live streams to YouTube and Facebook works on every plan, from Tech Manager or the web, with no lock on Add live stream or on setting up an encoder. Streaming through WorshipMetrics (its own address and key) stays on the Max plan.
  • The public address field shows an example address.
  • Settings > Account shows your plan as Free, Pro or Max, and Plan and billing shows a complimentary plan from WorshipMetrics when your church has one.
  • Settings > Notifications > Email has a "Booth computer goes offline" switch, off by default. Pulse still shows a booth that goes offline.
  • Connect YouTube and Connect Facebook in Tech Manager: type the code Tech Manager shows on the page that opens in your browser. Connect Facebook should finish without signing in to the web app first.
  • Program from vMix on another computer (Settings > vMix) uses a passphrase: copy it into the Passphrase field of vMix's SRT output with the other values.

ALSO IN THIS UPDATE · 37

  • Pulse > System Health shows one Blackmagic capture card as one row, and its ports fit a phone screen.
  • When a plan Tech Manager last showed has been deleted, Tech Manager moves on to the current plan without a sync error.
  • Security updates to the engine Tech Manager runs on. FIRST BUILT FOR 1.0.0-BETA.4 (included here) Student accounts
  • An administrator creates students in People > Students, on the web or in Tech Manager: name, username and level (Editor, Viewer or Scheduled viewer). The suggested password is shown once, so you can hand it to the student. Reset password gives a student a new password and signs them out of every Tech Manager.
  • On Tech Manager's sign-in screen, a student chooses "Sign in with a username". Tech Manager remembers that form, so a classroom computer is ready for the next student each time one signs out.
  • Students are listed in Accounts with everyone else, where you can pause or restore a student or change their level. Cameras
  • Canon CR-N and Panasonic AW cameras: Target, Frame and Search should now aim these heads, as well as the pan, tilt and zoom buttons. When a head is set to its own network control (Canon XC, or Panasonic AW), a Target click should take it to the point you clicked in one move.
  • When a camera refuses a move, the message says what the camera answered: it wants a login, it is in standby, it can't be reached, or its control setting doesn't match its model, with the setting to choose instead.
  • The Panasonic AW-UE70 is in the camera list, and the AW-UE150, AW-UE100 and AW-HE40 start on Panasonic's own network control.
  • Add camera has a Camera model search that fills in the video address, control type and control port. The video address follows the IP address as you type it, there and in Patch > Devices.
  • Put a camera's login in its Username and Password fields, not in the video address. Tech Manager uses them for both the picture and control.
  • Move (drag the picture to steer) is back on the web camera page while the picture is live.
  • The equipment scan files a device as a camera only when it shows a camera's signs, says how many cameras it found among how many devices, and matches models more carefully. Live program on the web Switcher
  • The web Switcher's program monitor shows live video by default, with snapshots filling in while it connects or reconnects. On a weak connection or a small monitor it asks the booth for a lighter picture.
  • When vMix or OBS runs on the booth computer, Tech Manager should turn on vMix External output or OBS Virtual Camera by itself while someone watches the program monitor, and turn it off again about a minute after the last viewer leaves. An output you turned on yourself stays on.
  • The booth sends the program at 720p and 360p, 30 frames a second, on the graphics hardware where it can.
  • While Tech Manager streams your service from a capture input, the program monitor should stay live on booths that stream with hardware encoding.
  • vMix on another computer: in Settings > vMix, turn on "Receive vMix's program over SRT" and copy the values shown into vMix's SRT output (vMix 24 or later). If Windows Firewall asks on the booth computer, allow it on private networks.
  • Program sound: the web program monitor should play the program's sound in step with the picture. It starts muted; the speaker button turns it on. OBS's Virtual Camera carries no sound, and program from vMix over SRT or from Tech Manager's own stream is picture only for now. Connecting a booth to your church
  • A Tech Manager that hasn't been connected to your church keeps its equipment scan and device changes on that computer until you connect it in Settings > Booths with Connect now.
  • A connected booth's equipment changes always go to the church it is connected to. Present editor
  • Shapes (with a live video input as a possible Fill), rulers along the editor canvas, and Text Scaling with Container up or down, Keep lines as typed and Line transform.
  • Right-click menus with an Add action submenu, Group and a menu for objects on the canvas. Copy, cut and paste slides between presentations, themes, stage layouts and props, even between windows.
  • A Copyright block on the Presentation tab (for a song from your library it saves to the song itself), and photos or initials in Version history.
  • A layer you add and then delete stays deleted.
  • A theme with no background picture keeps the slide's own picture or video, and the theme's colour always applies.
  • A new church starts with its own Audience Display and Stage Display.
  • Moving the mouse over a full-screen output shows the pointer along with the close button.
  • When a part of the app hits a problem, Tech Manager can now send a short report (no content from your church) when error reporting is on, so it can be fixed.
  • The Companion tab reloads itself after you resize the right panel.
  • Tours: a Quick tour or Full tour the first time you open Present, and "Set up this computer" the first time Tech Manager runs on a computer. Tours only point at things and aren't offered while a service is on. Also from 1.0.0-beta.4
  • Pulse > System Health in three chapters, Computers, Devices and Network, with a Likely cause card when several devices stop answering through one switch.
  • Streaming through WorshipMetrics comes with the Max plan. Where it isn't on, Tech Manager points to Settings > Plan and billing, or to streaming directly with your own stream key.
  • Text message alerts are on the Pro and Max plans.
  • Verifying your church turns Luminos chat on.
  • Settings shows only what you can use today, and plan names read Pro and Max everywhere.
  • Present: faster, smoother video starts, including videos you've just added from this computer (from 1.0.0-beta.3). Found something odd? Tell us from inside the app with Help > WorshipMetrics Support. A real person reads every report, usually with coffee in hand.
