If your church is choosing presentation software, two names come up first: EasyWorship and ProPresenter. The old advice (“EasyWorship for Windows churches, ProPresenter for Mac churches, and buy a license once”) is out of date. In 2026, both run on Windows and Mac, and both are sold as subscriptions. The real differences are now how they’re priced, how deep they go and who’s going to run them.
We read both companies’ pricing, release notes and requirements pages on October 17, 2026.
The short answer
- Choose EasyWorship if you want something volunteers learn quickly, you run several computers at one location, and you value a large built-in Bible library.
- Choose ProPresenter if you have a production team, complex outputs (IMAG, lower thirds, multiple screens and key feeds), and want the tool that most church production people already know.
- Consider a free option if budget is the deciding factor. See Best Free Church Presentation Software.

Price: per computer vs per location
This is the biggest practical difference.
ProPresenter charges per seat (each computer that presents live). On annual billing, the first seat is $289, seats 2 to 4 are $189 each, and seats 5 to 10 are $149 each. Monthly billing is $29 per seat with no volume discount. Computers that only prepare slides can run the free, watermarked Local Editor.
EasyWorship charges per church location, by attendance. One subscription covers unlimited computers at that location; a second campus or church plant needs its own. For the smallest churches, Basic is $210 a year and Premium is $330 a year, billed yearly. EasyWorship’s price rises with attendance, and it doesn’t publish its higher tiers, so get a quote for your size.
| Scenario | EasyWorship (smallest tier) | ProPresenter |
|---|---|---|
| One booth computer | $210 to $330/yr | $289/yr |
| Booth plus a backup | $210 to $330/yr | $478/yr |
| Booth, backup and youth room | $210 to $330/yr | $667/yr |
| Two campuses, one computer each | Two subscriptions | $478/yr |
For a single-location church with several computers, EasyWorship usually costs less. For a multi-campus church with one computer per campus, the gap narrows.
Ease of use
EasyWorship has built its reputation on being approachable: a volunteer who’s never run slides can usually get through a service after one walkthrough. Its free remote app lets someone advance slides from a phone or tablet.
ProPresenter is deeper, and that depth has a learning curve. Its strength is that so many church production people already know it, which helps when you recruit volunteers or hire.
Whichever you choose, write a one-page Sunday checklist and keep presets simple.
Production features
ProPresenter is the stronger production tool: more control over outputs, layers, props and stage screens, and the wider ecosystem of integrations, add-ons and training. If your booth feeds IMAG, a lower-third key to a switcher and a stage display at once, it’s the safer bet.
EasyWorship covers what most churches need: output to projectors, confidence monitors and the livestream at the same time, NDI in and out, and video playback.
Both can send lyrics to your livestream over NDI. See How Do I Put Lyrics and Slides on Our Church Livestream?
Songs, Bibles and licensing
Both integrate with CCLI SongSelect, so you can pull in licensed lyrics instead of typing them. EasyWorship reports song use to CCLI automatically.
EasyWorship includes more than 90 Bible translations, with premium modern translations available as one-time purchases. Check which translations your church reads before you choose either tool.
Neither changes your licensing: you still need a church copyright license to project lyrics, and a streaming license to stream worship songs.
Mac and Windows: what changed
For years, the deciding question was the booth computer’s operating system. That’s mostly gone:
- ProPresenter has run on both Mac and Windows for years.
- EasyWorship 8 added native Apple Silicon Mac support in April 2026, so Mac support is new. If you’re a Mac church choosing EasyWorship, run the 30-day trial on your actual booth Mac first.
A third option: WorshipMetrics Present
If neither price fits, or your team wants to edit from anywhere, WorshipMetrics Present is free forever with unlimited users:
- Runs in a browser, so the pastor can fix a sermon slide at home and it’s in the booth, and more than one person can operate at once.
- Imports ProPresenter 7 shows directly, and ProPresenter 4–6, ChordPro, OpenLyrics and OpenSong files through Songs.
- Stage display with chord charts, multiple screens, NDI and SDI outputs (from the free Tech Manager desktop app), macros and protocol triggers.
Where it’s behind: Present drives screens from Chrome or Edge, includes six Bible translations rather than 90, and is newer than both. It’s also part of a larger platform, so planning, cameras, streaming and monitoring are in the same login.
Which should your church choose?
| If your church… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Has several computers at one location and mostly volunteer operators | EasyWorship |
| Has a production team, IMAG and complex outputs | ProPresenter |
| Plans services in Planning Center and wants it to flow into slides | ProPresenter |
| Needs many Bible translations built in | EasyWorship |
| Has multiple campuses with one computer each | Compare quotes; ProPresenter can be competitive |
| Wants free software the whole team can edit from anywhere | WorshipMetrics Present |
